Team Goals 2016: 1. Improve our overall placement at meets/invites. 1A. Place 9th or above at the Sectionals meet. (Past 3 years we have placed between 11th-13th.) 1B. Defend our Rich East Invite Championship Title 2. Maintain our IHSA All-State Academic title by maintain a varsity team GPA of 3.00 or above. 3. All athletes will set new personal records both within the season, and in comparison to prior seasons.

Mission Statement: The mission of the Joliet Central Girls Cross Country Team is to provide an athletic program for female student-athletes interested in becoming competitive distance runners by developing the skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to reach individual goals which will create a foundation for life-long fitness and to reach team goals through committed, active participation throughout the entire season.
Team Philosophy: In conjunction with the Joliet Township athletic philosophy, the Joliet Central Girls Cross Country team will develop and promote: -The unique opportunity to participate in a sport that offers both individual and team challenges. -The training designed to prepare the student athlete for the physical and mental elements necessary to be successful. -The individual goal setting that allows for personal achievement based on talent, commitment and desire. -The knowledge of an appropriate training program, proper nutrition, suitable gear and injury prevention-essential components of a successful life-long runner. -The characteristics of a model student athlete including respect, integrity, sportsmanship, self-confidence, leadership, team loyalty and Steelmen pride. We encourage all girls to join our team. Cross Country is a no cut sport and we offer a positive, fun environment that will provide all runners with memories to last a lifetime.
